You do not need a referral to see a psychologist, you can book an appointment at anytime.

If you would like to arrange a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and referral through your GP, this will make you eligible for a Medicare rebate on your psychology sessions (currently up to 20 sessions until December 31st 2022).

Yes, you do not need a referral from your GP to see a psychologist however these appointments would not attract a Medicare rebate. You may wish to use your private health insurance if you have it or pay privately.

Initially, people attend on a weekly or fortnightly basis for at least the first 6 sessions and decrease the frequency once they have started to see improvements.

Our standard appointment is just over 50 minutes, including the first session.

We have a 48-hour cancellation policy (in Business hours/days) for cancelling an appointment. In the event that 48 hours’ notice is not received for cancellation or rescheduling or the session is not attended, a fee of $100 will apply. Please note that Medicare rebates do not apply in this instance.
